This piece is inspired by Psalm 65:8:
They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Eugene Peterson paraphrases the text in The Message as:All your salvation wonders are on display in your trophy room. [...]Far and wide they’ll come to a stop, they’ll stare in awe, in wonder. Dawn and dusk take turns calling, “Come and worship.”
So much of my painting is an act of worship. Naturally, my art cannot compare to the majestic masterpieces of The Creator, however, it attempts to capture a moment of sacred beauty and peace in a tumultuous world – a piece of the love God shared with us at that moment as I see it. Although the darkness envelops the hills, the sun peeking around the edge casts a joyful and peaceful glow upon the sky, and continues in the shifting reflection on the water and rustles gently among the flowers on the shore.
